Max  Blythe’s time spent in Russia  gave him a personal perspective on this country which  contradicts stereotypes that many people have.  He  focused on Russia's relevance in the 21st century, and how the points that make Russia relevant are also the main points of contention with the U.S.  He included a brief history to show the evolution of Russia.

Max Blythe graduated U.C. Davis with Majors in Russian Language (he's fluent) and International Relations.  He moved to Russia in 2004 and worked for the Russia State Humanities University as a teaching assistant.  He also worked as an English teacher for the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  From there, he moved to the Russian Office of Deloitte and worked in their brand and business development Department as their editor/copywriter/ technical writer.  He then moved to East Komerts, an investment group, to head their translation department.  Max is now back home working and going to school locally and will depart for Brandeis University in the fall.
