From the Metropolitan Opera Live in HD to Ewan McGregor's journey on a motorcycle from Scotland to South Africa, alternative content or alternative programming is becoming more prevalent. It has the potential to broaden the audience for traditional art forms and present moviegoers with unique programs previously unavailable. Rialto Cinemas Lakeside proprietor Ky Boyd talked about upcoming programs being offered at the Rialto and how alternative content is changing the movie theatre business. Since January 2000, Ky J. Boyd has been the proprietor of Rialto Cinemas Lakeside, Sonoma County's premiere venue for independent foreign and classic films. Born and raised in Great Falls, Montana, he fell in love with the movies at the Liberty Theatre when he saw Walt Disney's The Aristocrats. Mr. Boyd received a Bachelor’s degree in Arts Administration from the University of Montana and holds a Masters degree in Arts Administration from the world-renowned College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati. He lives in both Santa Rosa and Emeryville.
